That certain Standard Code known as the “American Standard Installation of Gas Appliances and Gas Piping,” approved by the American Standards Association, Inc., and sponsored by the American Gas Association, Inc., 420 Lexington Ave., New York, New York, is hereby incorporated by reference herein and made a part of this article, save and except such portions as are hereinafter or may hereafter be amended or deleted, as authorized and in the manner prescribed by the statutes of the State of Kansas.

(a)   The Plumbing Inspector of the City of Florence shall enforce the provisions of the Standard Gas Fitting Code incorporated by reference by this article.

(b)   Penalty. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined in any sum not exceeding One Hundred Dollars ($100.00).

All installations, connections, extensions, alterations and repair of gas pipes and gas piping systems connecting houses or structures of any character with the distribution system of the City, except such as shall be done by licensed plumbers or by the gas distribution company serving the City, shall be done only by such persons as have taken out a gas fitter’s license. Such license shall be issued by the City Clerk, upon application therefor by a gas fitter. The fee for a license shall be Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) per year. The gas fitter securing a license shall furnish a bond or liability insurance in the same amount and subject to the same conditions as required of plumbers.
