There is hereby created an Ambulance Service Department. The City of Florence, Kansas, shall equip and operate said ambulance service to provide ambulance transportation for the acutely ill and severely injured person or persons, said ambulance service to be supervised and controlled by the Mayor and the Council.

It shall be the duty of the City Clerk to keep a ledger account of all ambulance calls and services as reported to her, together with a record of all moneys remitted to her. She shall render a bill to all persons, firms, and corporations ordering or receiving ambulance service in accordance with charges as reported to her. All such billings shall be made by separate statements. All requisitions submitted to the City Clerk for the operation of said ambulance, shall be submitted by her to the City Council at the next regular meeting. The City Clerk shall set up an ambulance service account which shall show in detail all income and expenditures.

The rates and charges for ambulance services shall be as follows:

(a)   The base rate and charge for ambulance service and calls shall be $150.00 per run.

(b)   Mileage shall be assessed at the rate of $3.75 per mile, one way.

(c)   Standby or waiting charge shall be $15.00 per 15 minutes.

(d)   Oxygen-Flat rate $20.00.

(e)   If the ambulance is used to make a round trip, there will be one base rate charge according to paragraph (a) and mileage charged both trips.

(f)   A charge will be made for each non re-usable item used.
