CHAPTER 11. PUBLIC OFFENSESCHAPTER 11. PUBLIC OFFENSES\Article 2. Curfew

It shall be unlawful for any minor under the age of eighteen (18) years of age to loiter, idle, wander, stroll, play, drive or ride in or on a motor propelled vehicle upon or over any of the streets, sidewalks, alleys, parks, vacant lots, public places and public grounds in the City of Florence, Kansas, between 11:00 p.m. and sunrise the following day, provided, however, that the provisions of this section shall not apply when the minor is accompanied by his parent, guardian or legal custodian, or in the performance of the minor’s work if he or she be gainfully employed requiring his or her use of such streets, avenues or alleys during said hours; Provided further, that by proclamation of the Mayor the hours of curfew may be changed from time to time.

Violation of this Section shall be a Class C misdemeanor.

It shall be unlawful for a parent, guardian or legal custodian of a minor under the age of eighteen (18) years to permit such minor to loiter, idle, wander, stroll, play, drive or ride in or on a motor propelled vehicle upon or over any of the streets, sidewalks, alleys, parks, vacant lots, public places and grounds in the City of Florence, Kansas, between 11:00 p.m. and sunrise the following day, but the provisions of this section shall not apply when the parent, guardian of legal custodian actually accompanies such minor or such minor if gainfully employed is required to use such streets, avenues or alleys during the hours hereby described; Provided further that by proclamation of the Mayor the hour of curfew may be changed from time to time.

Violation of this Section shall be a Class C misdemeanor.

The provisions of the Kansas Criminal Code which are in their nature applicable to the jurisdiction of the City of Florence and in respect to which no special provision is made by the ordinances of the City are applicable to the Florence Criminal Code.
